Fall Semester

New Orleans Medical School Visit
Every year AED organizes a visit to the LSUHSC-NO medical school. This year was a great success. Thanks to everyone who attended - hope you all enjoyed the visit and found it helpful! Dates will be coming soon!

Chapter Socials
The Social Event this semester will be a Trivia Night.  The categories will include pop culture, science, history, sports, geography, and miscellaneous. We are currently working on getting an event planned!

Blood Drive

Each fall and spring semester AED hosts a Blood Drive in the Student Union through LifeShare Blood Centers. AED members, friends, and other individuals on campus are welcome to donate. The event provided 91 units of blood to LifeShare - it was a great success and we look forward to next semester's drive.

Free Practice MCAT

Kaplan will be offering a free practice MCAT.  This event is a great opportunity to prepare for the test!

- A detailed score report

- We'll figure out what kind of test taker you are and let you know your strengths and weaknesses.

- Complete explanations to every question

- Don't you hate it when you don't understand a mistake? We'll show you what mistakes you made and how to correct them.

- Strategies for improvement: A practice test isn't any good if you don't learn anything from it. We'll show you strategies for improvement.

Upperclassmen Q & A

Each semester, senior AED members host the Senior Q & A meeting as a chance for underclassmen to ask them about all things pre-med & hear personal recommendations about the med-school application process & more. It also serves as a social point opportunity for seniors. This opportunity will precede the November 15, 2016 meeting.
We really encourage seniors to participate in this meeting even if you don't need the service point.
Its always a great way to help out the underclassmen members!

Halloween Food Drive

Each year AED hosts an Annual Halloween Food Drive to help the needy families in the Baton Rouge area. The event collects food and on Halloween we deliver our donations to a neighborhood in Baton Rouge, so that those people will have a great Halloween. This is our way to give back to the Baton Rouge community. This year the food drive will be held on Monday, October 31, 2017 in Kenilworth Subdivision. Sign ups are on the service calendar.

Health Professions Career Fair
Medical, dental, and other professional programs from the Louisiana area and across the country as well as several baccalaureate programs will be present to discuss your future with you.  This event is a great way to network, gather information, and explore careers in health care. This event will take place Wednesday, October 4th, 2017 from 10:00 am- 2:00 pm in the Union Ballroom.
