Service *IMPORTANT REMINDER* - all 6 service points must be completed & all ongoing service letterheads must be turned in by NOVEMBER 18th The approved ON-GOING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES are listed on this website under ongoing service opportunitiesIf it is NOT listed, you WILL NOT be awarded service points. To be an active member you need to fulfill 6 service points. These can be obtained by volunteering at AED service events and/or by volunteering at on-going service events. You will receive 1 point for every 2 hrs at AED service events. You will receive 1 point for every 3 hrs at AED sponsored on-going events. Dates and details of upcoming service events will be announced at AED meetings and then placed on the website the following day under upcoming service events. Sign up for events will be via e-mail. E-mail aedservicelsu@gmail.com to sign up. Example: Subject: Ollie Steele Sept. 14th. Body: John Doe. Sophomore. Priority Point 2 [or “no priority point”] In the past, some of the service events tend to fill up very fast, and members would have a hard time fulfilling their service point requirements. The “priority point system” was created to give all members a fair chance at getting these events. You are given priority points 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. One being the highest priority and six being the least priority. So, when you send an e-mail to aedservicelsu@gmail.com you can choose to use a priority point, or can simply say “no priority point” because not all of the events will be filled up by members using priority points. However, by using a priority point, you’ll have a better shot at getting the event. Once you use a priority point, you cannot use it again for the rest of the semester. So, let’s say you decide to use priority point 1 for an event and receive confirmation, then you will only have points 2,3,4,5, and 6 left to use for the rest of the semester. E-mails will be sent to ALL those who signed up for the event and will include the list of members who are actually CONFIRMED for the event. If your name does NOT appear on the list, then you did NOT receive the event, and you are free to use that priority point again if you chose to use one while signing up. If you are unclear about how this system works or have any questions in general, please do not hesitate to contact your Vice-Presidents of Service. |
